The Kid's Wrangler plays a crucial role at the ranch, ensuring that young guests have a safe, engaging, and unforgettable experience. This role is perfect for someone who loves the outdoors, thrives in a high-energy environment, and enjoys making a positive impact on kids’ lives while working in a close-knit team. Balancing fun with safety, this position requires creativity, patience, and a passion for working with children. In addition to the general responsibilities of a Wrangler, the Children’s Wrangler will take on specialized duties outlined below.

Duties:

  • Fulfill all duties and responsibilities of the Wrangler position.
  • Provide engaging and safe experiences for children aged 5 to 15.
  • Design and implement a comprehensive children’s program focused on fun activities such as:
    • Horseback riding
    • Archery
    • Riflery
    • Astronomy
    • Storytelling
    • Arts and crafts
    • Games
  • Act as an adviser for children pursuing Boy Scout or Girl Scout merit badges.
  • Lead and organize special activities, including the Tuesday night cookout and Saturday family arena games.
  • Share general wrangler duties, such as:
    • Feeding and caring for horses
    • Grooming, tacking, and cleaning up after rides
    • Assisting with ranch chores like housekeeping, busing tables, and washing dishes

Qualifications:

  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years working with children in roles such as teaching, scouting, or childcare
  • Skills:
    • High safety consciousness and attention to detail
    • Moderate horseback riding and equine knowledge; extensive horse experience is preferred
    • CPR certification and first aid training
    • Proficiency in organizing and leading activities for various age groups
  • Personality:
    • Outgoing, friendly, and customer service oriented
    • Self-starter with a collaborative attitude and strong communication skills
    • Flexibility and enthusiasm to tackle diverse tasks
  • Other Requirements:
    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (for occasional off-site trips)
    • Ability to perform duties in a high-altitude environment

Compensation:
