Year-Round

The Marketing, Sales & Events Manager is responsible for developing, executing, and managing all marketing, sales, and event operations for Sundance Trail Guest Ranch. This role serves as the primary point of contact for prospective guests, wedding and event clients, and strategic partners, while also overseeing day-to-day office operations and supporting ranch-wide needs.

Working closely with the Owners, Lodge Manager, and Barn Manager, this role blends strategic planning with hands-on execution in a dynamic, fast-paced, and highly personalized guest environment.

Key Responsibilities

Marketing Strategy & Brand Management

  • Evaluate existing marketing activities, systems, and structures with an eye toward continuous improvement
  • Identify current marketing strengths and opportunities for growth
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies with measurable goals to maintain and enhance the ranch’s reputation
  • Create and manage an annual, seasonally-driven marketing calendar
  • Oversee brand voice, visual consistency, and storytelling across all platforms

Digital Marketing & Communications

  • Support on managing and updating the ranch website, including content edits, SEO best practices, and user experience improvements
  • Create and distribute marketing collateral including email newsletters, automated campaigns, blogs, brochures, and print materials
  • Maintain and grow a targeted social media presence aligned with key customer niches
  • Manage CRM systems (Brevo or similar) to support lead nurturing, guest communication, and sales pipelines

Sales & Guest Experience

  • Serve as the primary sales contact for lodging, dude ranch vacations, weddings, events, retreats, and day-trip rides
  • Respond to inquiries via phone, email, and text; provide personalized proposals and follow-ups
  • Conduct on-site tours of the ranch and Aspen Grove venue
  • Convert inquiries into bookings while balancing guest expectations with ranch capacity and operations
  • Regularly evaluate customer satisfaction and adjust offerings accordingly

Weddings, Events & Group Sales

  • Define, develop, and refine wedding, event, and group service offerings
  • Manage event inquiries, proposals, contracts, timelines, and client communications
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure seamless event execution
  • Navigate high-stress situations with professionalism, humor, and exceptional people skills (including the occasional very invested mother-of-the-bride)

Partnerships & Public Relations

  • Build and maintain relationships with:
    • Local vendors, businesses, and tourism partners
    • Other dude ranches and industry associations at the state and national level
    • Strategic partners such as the University of Denver campus and regional organizations
  • Represent Sundance Trail positively within the local and broader hospitality community

Leadership & Internal Support

  • Orient, train, and educate staff on marketing initiatives, guest communication standards, and brand representation
  • Supervise shared staff when applicable, providing leadership, feedback, coaching, and recognition
  • Collaborate closely with the Lodge Manager and Barn Manager to align marketing promises with on-the-ground realities

Office Operations & Ranch Support

  • Independently manage day-to-day office operations, including administrative tasks and guest communications
  • Assist other teams as needed with ranch duties — which may include housekeeping, meal prep, feeding horses, grocery runs, or addressing unexpected “real-life ranch catastrophes” (frozen pipes, temperamental equipment, etc.)

Required Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience editing and managing websites, including basic SEO best practices
  • Strong social media management skills with an understanding of audience targeting
  • Experience with CRM platforms (Brevo or similar preferred)
  • Reservation system experience (Innroad or similar a plus)
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • High emotional intelligence and calm problem-solving skills in high-pressure situations

Work Environment & Schedule

  • Willingness to work a flexible schedule based on ranch, guest, and event needs
  • Availability for weekends, holidays, and peak summer season demands
  • Comfort working independently while also collaborating closely with a small team
  • Ability to thrive in a rural, remote, and highly dynamic environment
