Compensation: $14.81/hour + tips (room & board included)
Potential for Promotion to Barn Manager in May
Are you passionate about horses, the outdoors, and providing memorable guest experiences? Sundance Trail Guest Ranch is looking for a seasonal Wrangler to join our team for the fall, winter, and spring seasons, with the potential for a full-time Barn Manager position starting in May.
Key Responsibilities:
- Horse Care & Feeding: Daily feeding, watering, and overall care for our herd of 38 horses. Monitor their health and well-being.
- Trail Rides: Lead guests on safe and enjoyable trail rides while offering engaging and friendly conversation.
- Barn & Equipment Management: Maintain the barn, tack, and other equipment. Regularly clean and organize the barn, including manure management.
- Event Assistance: Support our weddings, murder mystery weekends, and other guest events.
- Household Support: Assist the house staff with kitchen duties, housekeeping tasks, and general ranch upkeep.
- Maintenance Duties: Help maintain the ranch’s tractor, vehicles, and mechanical equipment. In winter, be prepared to handle frozen pipes, snow plowing, and other seasonal challenges.
- Additional Duties: Pitch in wherever needed—whether it’s folding laundry or addressing unexpected ranch needs. Every day is different at the ranch!
Qualifications:
- Horse Experience: Must have solid experience in horse care and riding. Ability to manage a large herd is essential.
- Guest Interaction: Friendly, personable, and eager to make guests feel welcome.
- Work Ethic: A self-starter who enjoys physical work and thrives in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to adapt and take on varied tasks is key.
- Mechanical Skills: Basic knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance is preferred.
- Team Player: You’ll work closely with our entire ranch team, from wranglers to housekeepers.
